Telehealth

# Online Therapy Across Washington, DC

The best therapy is the kind that actually happens. For a District schedule — the 7:40 stand-up, the flight to Frankfurt, the kid pickup at 5:30 — telehealth is often the difference between a consistent practice and a good intention.

We provide secure video sessions to clients throughout Washington, DC, with the same clinicians, the same methods, and the same discretion as our downtown office.

## What works fully online

- Individual therapy — [anxiety](/specialties/anxiety-therapy), [depression](/specialties/depression-therapy), [burnout](/specialties/stress-burnout), transitions
- Sex therapy and intimacy work — for many clients, easier from home
- EMDR, using established remote bilateral-stimulation protocols
- Couples sessions — together, or split across two locations
- Sessions in English or French

## How telehealth works here

Sessions run on a secure, healthcare-grade video platform through our client portal — not consumer video apps. You'll need a private space, decent internet, and headphones; we'll handle the rest, including a plain-language walkthrough before your first session.

A licensing note worth knowing: therapy happens where the client is, so online sessions are for clients physically located in the District. If your week splits between DC and elsewhere, mention it in [the consultation](/book-online) and we'll map what's workable.

## Online, in person, or both

Many clients blend formats — telehealth as the rhythm, the [One Franklin Square](/therapy-office-washington-dc) office when in-person feels right or the calendar allows. Rates are identical: 55 minutes, $215, sliding scale $150–194, free 15-minute consultation to start.

FAQ

## Common questions

### Is online therapy as effective as in person?

For most concerns, research finds comparable outcomes — including for EMDR with adapted protocols. What matters most is consistency and fit, which is exactly what telehealth protects.

### Is it private?

The platform is secure and healthcare-grade. Your end matters too — headphones and a closed door do most of the work. We'll help you think through the logistics if privacy at home is complicated.

### Can I do sessions from my office?

If you have a genuinely private room, yes — plenty of downtown clients take sessions from a booked conference room with headphones.
